I’ve been looking into both Superpowers and OpenSpec for AI-assisted development workflows, but I’m still trying to understand where they overlap vs. differ philosophically and practically. From what I can tell: Superpowers seems more like an agentic skills/methodology layer with reusable workflows, planning, TDD, debugging, execution patterns, etc. OpenSpec seems more focused on spec-driven development and maintaining structured implementation artifacts/specs throughout the development lifecycle. So my questions are: Are these tools actually solving different problems? Do people use them together successfully? If you had to choose only one, which would you pick and why? Does one integrate more naturally with Claude Code than the other? Is there conceptual overlap/redundancy between them, or are they complementary? Would love to hear from people who’ve actually used both in real projects. submitted by /u/kdtb
