Don’t get me wrong, Google’s Gemini CLI is great for lightweight, single-turn terminal execution and checking logs. It’s fast and cheap. But switching back to Claude Code highlights the massive gap between a “CLI chat wrapper” and a true agentic toolchain. Claude actually understands how modules connect across the directory. When I tell Claude Code to fix a failing test, it autonomously traces the dependencies, modifies three different files, runs the test suite, and stages the git commit. Gemini CLI still feels like I’m pasting snippets into a terminal shell. Anthropic completely nailed the DX (Developer Experience) on this one. Anyone else try both? submitted by /u/netcommah
