The vignette is super cheap compared to our bordering countries that makes Switzerland a cheap option to travel through especially if you’re going to Italy. I think the Vigniette should cost more for non Swiss registered cars as the constant holiday travelling blocks Swiss citizens from travelling in their home towns. Specifically around the lake Lucerne region foreign cars fill the Autobahn and divert through towns not made for that level of traffic. A more expensive Vigniette for example 100.- would lower the amount of people travelling by car, it would promote the use of other transport options and take a load off of the already overloaded Autobahn. Most of the people who pass through don’t come here for Swiss tourism and the people who do have the available transportation from trains and airports to arrive in Switzerland. submitted by /u/Kill146
