I’ve been looking for a job for the past 5 months, here is the numbers: 185 applications over 5 months. 32 screeners (almost 40% - actually good compared to what I’ve seen from other countries). 20 first interviews. 4 final rounds. 1 offer. What I learned about the Swiss jobs market: The language barrier is real but not a huge problem for IT-related jobs. I tried to look for mostly English speaking jobs, but my German is B2 About 40% of my rejections at the screener stage came down to language. Zurich was the most forgiving, several international companies operating entirely in English. Geneva was the hardest to pull. The process is SLOW. Average time from application to offer was 63 days. One company took 11 weeks. Coming from the US where some companies move in 2-3 weeks, this was a big adjustment. So don’t panic if you don’t hear back for 3 weeks — that’s normal here. Here’s my job search stats online: https://jobreach.ai/share/RQZ4UyQruH4j Edit: The salary is 140k CHF a year. EM. submitted by /u/Ok_Allen5953
