Maybe I’m overanalyzing this, or maybe I’m just confused, but I have a male friend I’ve been talking to every single day for almost six months. We literally talk every day. There’s never been any direct flirting between us, but over time he’s become pretty emotionally and spiritually dependent on me. We hang out one-on-one sometimes, and he’s very attentive to me. He listens to me, affirms me, and is always very appreciative of me. He talks about me a lot and has even told me that I’m one of the best things that’s happened to him in a long time. But this is where I get confused. I can’t tell if he actually likes me or if he truly just sees me as a friend. He says he only sees me as a friend and that he wouldn’t jeopardize our friendship. At the same time, he’s very protective over me, limits his friends’ access to me, and tells them they can’t talk to me. So I’m sitting here wondering am I overthinking this, or does this situation actually seem a little confusing? submitted by /u/Muted_Ad_7218
