I’ve seen a lot of recommendations for mega-rares, and I’m not going to touch that since I’ve never shot a T-Bow across my 3 accounts. They’ve told us the raid is likely melee focused, with movement being important. Having a regular raid reward that fits into that makes sense. We also know they are looking at making elemental weaknesses more relevant. A single room in the raid could be viable for elemental spells, but a weakness to melee. Low skill, slowest kills: Twin flame from further back, auto changes spells for you. Slight increase to skill and speed: Smoke Battlestaff or SOTD manually changing spells, especially with Wrath rune access. Standard “Pace”: Melee, or Harm Staff. Melee will require more movement by being up close, Harm Requires manual spell changes. BIS: Proposed Elemental Sword, requires melee movement, and changing styles to damage type. Outside of the raid, if a single damage type is preferred (Melee Mole, Grotesque Guardians, Melee Fire Cape, or Araxxor (Muspah w/ an update)) the corresponding tome may be the best off hand as it is improving that elemental damage type, but with the added cost of pages. In situations like CoX you would likely still run a defender because multiple damage types are relevant. It also drives value to Torva, as multiplied accuracy and strength make base strength more relevant. TLDR: A one handed melee weapon that is able to change “style” to elemental types and capitalize on those bonuses. This allows melee to be used in places that it hasn‘t been previously; and allows for increased gear diversity. Note: I saw another post about a void blessing allowing for 1 gear change, I like the idea of a drop that improves a piece of void equipment adding stats. If all void pieces are upgraded there is an improved set effect. It maintains the Guthix Theme, Maintains value of old gear, and provides a direct dry protection as you don’t need a specific drop, just 6 of the same drop. submitted by /u/AnotherAnwar
