I’m a woman in my 30s and I keep noticing a weirdly specific pattern with men I’ve dated… or just men in general. Three out of my five boyfriends have casually joked, sung, or made dumb comments about their balls. Nothing sexual just absurdist remarks, like if they stub their toe they might say, “f-ing ballsackman” or casually in the shower replacing words to songs like “I’ve been pooping on the ballsack all the live long day…” My current partner of 2 years does this too in some form, his favorite thing to say when pissed at someone gaming is “are you tugging my scrote bro?” At first I thought it was just coincidence or some leftover teenage thing. But the more men I meet, and the older I get, it remains. I even asked him about it, and he said he doesn’t know, they are just sayings he and most other guys used a lot growing up and it’s just subconscious at this point… So I’m curious how common this actually is, how it shows up for other people, and where this kind of humor even comes from. I’m trying to figure out if this is a broader guy-culture thing, a bonding or stress thing, or if I’ve somehow just kept dating the same type of guy over and over. submitted by /u/Some_Novice_
