Because of the speed at which Claude is evolving, I honestly figured they would update based on their original source. When it was installed into ~/.claude/skills/, it became a static file. That directory has no concept of “where did this come from” — no source URL, no version tracking, no update mechanism. It’s like downloading a PDF and expecting it to auto-update when the website changes. submitted by /u/oktabl
