25 M here. I’ve had a corporate job since 2023 but I feel like I never really got my finances organized the way I should have. I never started a 401k, never really saved, and most of my money has just been sitting/spending in my checking account. My upcoming bonus is going toward paying off my credit card debt. After that, I’ll have about $7,000 in checking, zero debt, and I’m planning to move $2,000 of that into savings to get started. I also have a steady paycheck that should allow me to build my savings each month. I really want to become financially secure and start doing things the right way (saving, investing, retirement, etc.), but I feel like I’m starting late and honestly a bit clueless about what actually helps today. For those who’ve been in a similar spot, what should my next steps be? I’m hoping to turn to my fellow men here for some guidance, since I never really had someone teach me about these things. submitted by /u/OctaviusHerb
