https://www.srf.ch/news/schweiz/blackout-initiative-staenderat-will-bau-von-akw-grundsaetzlich-wieder-erlauben Our parents were fighting against the Kaiseraugst AKW. Finally, after huge pressure from Demonstrations, the already constructed building was not finished, and the project stopped. Then the swiss votation did decide to ban new nuclear power plants 15y ago, after Fukushima desaster, leaving a former 7000 habitants town still empty until today, due to radioactive contamination. Now its our turn to stop such political stupidity early. There is, after decades of radioactive waste production, still no permanent safe storage solution politically realized or accepted for the nuclear waste (how to store safely for thousands of years?). Safety is always relative with the dystropic reality after a big accident. Additionally, nuclear power is a very expensive electricy! The country will use tax money to build them, high energy prices to run them, and the tax payer will be the insurance to cover the costs if something bad happens. We pay two to three times for it… Lets fight the optimism and disinformation: " all will be good, every thing works safely and better now, no worries we chose the best technology" all just wishes, not reality unfortunately. submitted by /u/domandi1244
