My (37M) daughter was born Saturday, and like our doctor suggested, we wanted to track diapers, feeding and sleep. I tried the popular apps but found it overcrowded and complex for the few basic things we needed. So I got frustrated and built a web app that does it in a way we’re finding simpler. Workflow:

  • UI mockups with Stitch by Google (hard to beat)
  • Exported the mocks + code to project folder
  • Added CSS/HTML plugin to Claude Code
  • prompt to Claude Code with pretty much the description above and some details on why I didn’t like the other popular apps (Huckleberry and Le Baby). Included mention of the folder with the UI mocks
  • added Claude for Chrome extension to allow Claude Code to test it’s production
  • connected the GoDaddy MCP and asked CC to come up with app names with availability which worked great.
  • deployed to Firebase with Firestore It obviously required some more work to refine it to exactly what I needed but the 1 shot version blew my mind with how good it’s become. Built the whole thing in under an hour or so. Note on Claude for Chrome extension: it’s decent but slow. Seems to rely on screenshots then processing. I know it’s in beta and will definitely improve. I’ve tested Google’s Antigravity and the chrome integration runs much faster and smoother. Excited to see where it goes with Claude.
