Hi everyone, I’m currently studying Communication and Media Research at the University of Zurich (UZH). However, I’m starting to feel that the academic path might not be for me. The program is very theoretical and requires reading large amounts of academic literature every week (often 30+ pages per course per week, and we usually take 4–5 courses). I realised that I’m much more interested in practical work, especially digital marketing / paid ads (Google Ads, Meta Ads, PPC). My question for people working in Switzerland / Zurich: Is it realistic to enter digital marketing without finishing a Master’s degree? For example, if someone: • completes certifications (Google Skillshop / Meta Blueprint) • builds some practical experience • applies for internships or junior roles Would companies in Zurich consider such candidates? I would really appreciate honest advice from people working in marketing, HR, or agencies in Switzerland. For context: I speak German (C1) and English. Thanks for any advice! submitted by /u/deliquentis
