Had a hydrocele with a renowned surgeon in London on November 31st 2025 (I say this because I assume he didn’t miss anything). It was recovering decently well but the last two weeks or so I’ve noticed it’s fairly big again and the pubic bone padding I had on that side is back. I suspect a recurrence. I’ve moved to the US recently for a job and won’t be on their insurance until April 1st. A couple of questions: Is it too early for me to have another surgery on this? When there’s a recurrence like this could there be an underlying cause that was missed? He said he folded up the sac and that should prevent recurrence. Would a new insurance provider fund the surgery on a recurrence? Any other advice is greatly appreciated! submitted by /u/tim_henman88
