I just found out about EcoGPT. Supposedly, it’s ChatGPT’s more environmental conscious cousin, who has all of the basic capabilities of ChatGPT, while using only 10% of the energy major generative ai platforms consume. The site claims to plant trees, use significantly less water and electricity, and emit less CO2. However, I can’t find much credible information backing these claims, aside from what the website has listed. So, I’m wondering… is this simply the illusion of choice? Slap on better branding to make consumers feel more comfortable using the product? Or is this a legitimate, environmentally conscious chat bot? Thanks! submitted by /u/isoiledmyplantz
