Hi, I’m a first time mum, giving my 7 month old daughter to kita. While their primary caregivers are women, there is a male caregiver in the group and he sometimes participates in taking care of my baby. I’m 99.9% sure everything is fine in Switzerland and the kita standards should be good. However, reading the horrific cases that happened in Australia, seemingly developed country, I just prefer to be too careful than once not enough. For anyone who knows how kita works, maybe you’ve been working in kitas in Switzerland, how are the safety standards regarding abuse? For example they close the door whne changing the diapers, so my baby is alone with a caregiver that is changing her diaper. There are 4 caregivers for 10 children in the group, and the group is withing maybe 70-80m2 “apartment”. So seems like there’s not much time that anyone can be truly alone with my baby for too long. But I’m curious if anyone has some insights… Not accusing anyone of course, I know there are good men out there, but unfortunately it’s mostly men who commit such crimes (I was also harnessed myself mildly or simply sexualised, like some man masturbating in the bushes when I was 13, or also when older and more, so unfortunately I know that it can happen, thankfully nothing serious) submitted by /u/Master-Economics-168
