I am a 37M. I was in a 6 year relationship that ended poorly followed by a 6 year custody battle for my son in which I did not date. There’s a lot that transpired in my childhood that had stunted my overall growth and development as a man in which has me feeling more like I have the mental development of someone just entering their 30s rather than being 37. As a result, I find myself attracted to women who are more 26-32 rather than women my own age, but that also comes from a place of not entirely feeling confident in bringing my share of responsibility to the table in a relationship with a partner who’s closer to my age. I don’t actively pursue dating right now, but in instances where it became a possibility and the girl was between that age range, the moment my age got brought up it became a deterrent despite any type of chemistry from before. Obviously, I’m not trying to be a creep here. submitted by /u/SwitchJumpy
