i’m trying to understand a behavior shift from a male coworker i really like and would appreciate a male perspective. we don’t know each other very well but work in the same office building. recently we had a really easy, positive interaction, normal work conversation, but a lot of eye contact, smiling, and he chose to sit near me for a bit even though he didn’t really have to. it felt comfortable and natural. the next time I saw him (about a week), the dynamic was completely different. he was noticeably more quiet and minimal with me, short responses, less eye contact, a bit stiff/awkward. at the same time, he was completely normal, talkative, and relaxed with everyone else. nothing actually happened between us in the meantime. no conflict, no awkward conversation, nothing. from a male pov, what typically causes that kind of shift? is that: – loss of interest – uncertainty about how he came across – thinking I wasn’t receptive – or something else entirely submitted by /u/estrelladaze
