I gotta ask, has there been a product with better product market fit than Claude Code, since perhaps… the iPhone? I’m on Personal Max (also have Team plan) and just hit limit mid conversation and without any hesitation just banged upgrade to 20x (which is £180 a month here in UK), literally zero doubt. But that just got me thinking about how incredible their product market fit is for me to do that. There’s no product or service I’m willing to pay high on other than home broadband and Sky Sports for the football - both of these are basically “necessity” and I recall when I saw that OpenAI Pro plan for $200 I was initially shocked… what was that, like 12 months ago? Now it feels like an absolute no brainer. My fear here is that, while I’m absolutely loving it, the reality is that not everyone can afford to go to £180 a month and that means AI is already going to start widening the class divide. I think gonna be rough for anyone who (a) isn’t getting on this train and/or (b) can’t afford the ticket. I really hope Anthropic are looking into this, with token grants etc. Currently all I see is their new startup fund that only offers tokens to VC backend startups, which, while I get the logic, isn’t going to address the bigger problem here. submitted by /u/Sketaverse

I think these individuals who are building apps that would normally require an entire team to build are going to have a really tough time once they have AI pumping 5 years of slop into it. Claude can just say “ya know what? Lets bump this subscription fee up to $1k/mo”. What then? Are you going to pay for it? Or let your giant AI built app collapse because you have no idea how it actually works and can’t actually support it yourself?
