Here’s a thing that struck my mind recently: Playing as a skiller turns osrs into a cozy game. By cozy games I mean games like Stardew Valley, peaceful games with a relaxing atmosphere where you spend your time fishing, foraging and farming while ambient music plays in the background. When you remove combat from OSRS and the usual focus that comes with it (gear progression, bossing, slayer, optimizing dps), the gameplay loop looks very different. Instead of doing slayer, bossing, or preparing for a raid, you spend your time skilling, doing farm runs, playing minigames, and slowly working toward different skilling goals. I have other accounts where I do combat, but when I skill on those accounts it doesn’t feel the same as when I skill on my level 3. The whole vibe is different. Osrs obviously wasn’t designed as a cozy game, but playing without combat kind of transforms it into one. You log in, do some relaxing skilling, make a bit of progress toward a long-term goal, and log out again. I’m curious to hear what others think. If you play a skiller, do you feel the same way? submitted by /u/Katkustagg
