Original Reddit post

I noticed something weird with the flood of posts about SBB ticket issue—missed tickets, minor employee mistakes, “Schwarzfahrer” situations. They look human, but a lot of them follow patterns that scream AI-generated content designed to grab attention. The reason I’m suspicious: I saw the same incident described from four perspectives—traveler, conductor, supervisor, and fellow traveler—all posted separately. That kind of repetition doesn’t happen naturally, which is why I did a quick dive and here’s what I found: This isn’t random. It’s a system. Step 1: Content generation at scale AI pumps out huge volumes of short, believable stories—ticket errors, fines, misunderstandings. No real experience needed; it just pulls patterns from the internet. Step 2: Emotional triggers These posts are engineered to get predictable reactions and AI can learn how people behaves for each : “That could happen to me” (relatability) “That’s unfair” (outrage) “I feel bad for them” (empathy) Result: guaranteed upvotes and comments and free guinea pigs. Step 3: Engagement farming Every interaction boosts the post in Reddit’s ranking. More visibility → more engagement → more reach. That loop? It’s the real asset: your attention . Step 4: Account value creation Accounts posting this content rack up karma and history, looking legit. Those accounts can then: Post promos without suspicion Be sold on gray markets Be used in coordinated campaigns Step 5: Monetization Once attention/accounts exist, they can be converted to money: Traffic funnels: Users are directed to ad-heavy or affiliate sites Stealth marketing: Products/services promoted through “trusted” accounts Ad intelligence: Learn what people react to for better targeting Narrative shaping: Make minor problems seem widespread to influence perception Step 6: Feedback loops Operators track which posts perform best—wording, scenario, tone—and feed that back into the AI. It constantly improves at exploiting human reactions. What’s really being exploited? Not just attention. Your good faith . People assume they’re reacting to real experiences. They upvote, sympathize, engage. That human response? It’s the raw material being harvested and turned into profit or influence. So, please spot AI posts. Don’t feed them unintentionally. Keep this subreddit human. Nb: I admit that I leveraged AI to coordinate my research results—fighting fire with fire. submitted by /u/Mean_Gas_1509
