In September 2025 Switzerland approved a federal digital identity card, and it still hasn’t fully launched. One of the richest country still has no official digital ID card issued by the goverment. The financial control did a review over the project. Getting delayed because of technical risks. The end to end encryption hasn’t been fully implemented stans of February and the EU security level will probably not be achieved with the current version, which means it can not be used there.
