Hey everyone, I wanted to bring up something that’s been bothering me (and a lot of players in similar regions, I’m sure). Right now, the standard membership price for Old School RuneScape is about $15/month. That might not sound like much in some countries, but in Egypt, it’s honestly very expensive relative to income. To put things into perspective: The minimum wage in Egypt is around 6000 EGP/month (~$120). That means a single month of membership is over 10–12% of a minimum wage salary. A full year sub (~$130) can exceed an entire month’s income for some people. Compare that to places like the US or UK: In the US, $15 is roughly 1% or less of minimum wage monthly income. That’s a massive difference in affordability. There are also some extra complications: We often have to pay additional banking/foreign transaction fees (~3%) just to pay in USD. Our currency isn’t supported directly, so we’re forced into unfavorable exchange rates. What makes it feel even more frustrating: Some regions (including certain Gulf countries and others on platforms like Steam) benefit from regional pricing, even when their average incomes are higher than Egypt’s. Meanwhile, we’re paying full USD price, despite having significantly lower purchasing power. I love this game, and I genuinely want to support it. But realistically, sustaining a subscription at this price is difficult for many Egyptian players (and likely others in similar economies). I’m not asking for anything unreasonable just pricing that reflects local economic conditions. Would love to hear thoughts from others, especially if you’re in a similar situation. submitted by /u/Sans_–
