I’m taking this rant to a different sub because the “agentic” hype train is moving faster than the actual tech, and my RTX 4080 is tired of being a terminal-cleanup machine. If a tool requires me to be 10x smarter than the tool just to get it to work “autonomously,” it’s not an assistant, it’s a digital hazing ritual for people who hate sleep. We’re watching Jensen’s keynote speeches about “AI Infrastructure” while our top-tier local models are still hallucinating basic JSON formats. The industry is desperately trying to sell “Will Smith eating spaghetti” as a Michelin-star masterpiece. The most hilarious part? These “open-source” heroes release a project, talk about liberation, and then last exactly 20 days before selling out to a corporate giant for a quick exit. It’s a fascinating disaster. There is a divine beauty hidden somewhere in this mess, a glimpse of a future that will eventually be a masterpiece, and that’s the only reason I haven’t deleted everything yet. But until that potential actually matures, it’s just garbage for anyone trying to be truly productive. See you all in 2030. Until then, good luck to the fellow geeks who enjoy this specific brand of masochism! submitted by /u/srch4aheartofgold
