Pro dev of 10+ years. It’s important to remember that the outputs of these models are random to a degree. You can give it the same prompt and get different responses each time. I have never noticed Claude degrade in its abilities. It has always had the ability to go off the rails, but that’s much more likely to happen when you’re sitting above a 50% full context window. Stop feeding it a ton of skills and a giant CLAUDE.md Break your prompts into smaller more achievable goals. Use /clear after you’ve finished each goal. Use plan mode more often and review the plans, always clearing context before executing. Good luck.
