Hi everyone! I’ve recently started OSRS because I was searching an mmo with alot of grind and most importantly raids. I’ve seen gameplay and it looked really appealing so I decided to jump in. I immediately got hooked. I loved doing quests, I loved grinding for more “number go up” adrenaline, trying to drop the pet on the cow boss, exploring the world, unlocking teleports, etc, etc… I am now around lvl 60 in all melee combat stats and was hyped to start trying Scurrius, but I was highly inefficient as I wasn’t doing alot of damage with only rune armor and scimitar. The boss kept healing, spawn rats, I kill rats, hit the boss once then goes back to healing… and spawn more rats… and… yeah the loop repeated and I got a bit fustrated. The fight was solid tho and loved learning it. It also made me practice even more how to prayer flick so I wasn’t using any prayer pots for a 15 minutes fight or else, each attempt was extremely expensive. I figured I’ll try to get the dragon scimitar to make what I would thought to be more enjoyable. Monkey Madness I, what to say about that quest… holy f*ck that was an annoying quest. From then, I loved doing quest because I actually had to immerse myself into the universe, learn how to craft and find certain things, find NPC by searching their location based on the quest’s description, decrypting puzzle and more… but that quest… without a guide and the quest plugin in runelite was truly a pain. I finaly managed to do it, the final boss was a bit hectic but manage to do it melee with my now well practiced prayer flicking and was kinda fun, but the whole quest before that gave me a sour taste in my mouth. With the new dragon scimitar, it was now time to get back to Scurrius. Now, I know Scurrius is supposed do be an introduction to pvm, and an excellent one at that based on people’s comment, but… it was still annoying because of the same loop I described earlier (heal -> spawn adds -> kill adds -> goes back healing -> spawns more adds -> repeat). Having killed it about 15 times, I had no fun in all of them (exept the first 5 minutes of my very first attempt learning Scurrius) and kinda wish later fights are less RNG dependent on how fustrating they could be. Here’s my question: Will later quests get better, or at the very least, keep the same philosophy of earlier quests (Dragon Slayer was my favorite quest to do until now)? And is Scurrius normally that furstrating, or simply part of the overall pvm experience and representative of the late game? I hope your answers will help me get more motivated to get further in the game because I really want to like OSRS more. submitted by /u/Laolhas
