If Jagex wants these cannons to be the low level design space to leave room for future updates, which does actually make sense to me. Then why are the level requirements for cannons so fucking high. If a rune cannon is supposed to feel similar to a rune scimitar in combat, and an eye of ayak justifiably blowing it out of the water. Then why does the rune cannon require fucking 80 sailing. It makes no sense, especially given they already have an expected progression curve for base metals; just use that. If they want to leave the design space open for the future and have the cannons deal paltry damage then the cannons should require 1 sailing for bronze/iron, 5 for steel, 20 for mithril, 30 for adamant, 40 for rune, 60 for dragon. The construction requirements can stay unchanged as long as the shipwright can build up to rune for you (they currently cant build past mithril, If I can buy a rune chainbody from some dude in the champion’s guild how come no one on Gielinor can build me a rune cannon??). But as is the sailing requirements for base metal cannons simply do not match the rest of the game at all. submitted by /u/UnassociatedUsername
