I am currently in Vietnam and have been for the last 6 months. it has been an interesting journey, but there are things I like and things I don’t like. I am also interested in going to Japan by the end of this year and seeing how that goes. what’s got me thinking is how do people approach friendships and dating, like do you know everyone is just a temporary friend for the duration of your stay, no matter how close you get, or are you in the situation where you actually plan on living in your current country long term. Also dating, like if you know or are at least unsure of if your staying in the country. do you still pursue intimate connections and date? Even though there is at least a large chance you know it’s not gonna last as you are planning on leaving ? Some people travel around for a long time knowing that they aren’t going to stay and eventually return back to their home country, so I just wonder how they deal with friendships and relationships submitted by /u/Vader60
