in Jagex’s recent post they say gear doing more damage is a good thing. but we knows at max efficiency combat will always provide less exp than barracuda trials therefore if you don’t have max gear you’ll be punching way below trials in terms of exp. the loot is also all contained to sailing so what are you meant to do, get crazy gear then look to do skilling? the new skill feels like it’s designed as an expansion for existing accounts and not something for new accounts to engage in as they level up. The rest of the skill does a decent job of hiding this and still be enjoyable but sailing Combat is genuinely miserable in this regard. before anyone says I’m too new to have opinions my account total level is 2250 and my gear is still too ass to engage in sailing combat efficiently. submitted by /u/Difficult_Run7398
