Can someone explain the appeal of running Claude Code in a terminal vs. just using the desktop app? Is it purely a preference thing or am I actually leaving something on the table? I feel like every screenshot, demo, or tutorial I see has Claude running in a terminal. I’m a hobbyist, vibe-coding at best, and the terminal has always felt like a “ do not touch unless you know what you’re doing ” zone to me. But now I’m genuinely curious is there a functional reason so many people go the terminal route? Performance, flexibility, workflow integration? Or is it mostly just culture/habit?
