Its Saturday, and instead of actually drinking Heineken beers with my boys, I’m sitting second day here staring at my uni exams, having an existential crisis. I absolutely hate my major. Worse, I have this fucking feeling that everything I’m forcing myself to memorize right now will be automated by AI by the time I graduate. I dont know what to do, either switch my major to something hyper-specialized or drop the uni and go into blue-collar work. Working with my hands feels like the only truly “AI-proof lmao” path left for our generation. Before I make a massive pivot, I want a reality check from people older and smarter than me: What’s was your biggest challenge in choosing a career path in the past or now? What is your actual view on blue-collar work? What are the absolute top 3 things you look for when deciding on a job? What information do you wish you had when making career decisions? How were you guys navigating this? I’ll be reading every comment. Thanks! submitted by /u/OppositeFriendly9183
