No matter what the numbers are, this is inherently the problem. Hit. Wait to be hit. Hit. Wait to be hit. Oh but don’t worry, you can have up to 10K healing stored in your boat for monsters that hit roughly 10…. RuneScape combat is inventory management. It’s swapping. It’s tribriding. Your character should NOT be on the cannon. You are the greatest adventurer in the land holding god’s sun staff and a bow forged in dragon piss. No, the captain of the ship shouldn’t man his cannons…. The people that want sailing combat to be good need to stop recommending changes that force it to NEVER be good in the future. Sailing combat IS BORING. Prayer swapping? Using prayers at all? Using the right tool for the job? Avoiding mechanics? Learning any mechanics at all? Increasing TTK through advanced understanding of the nuances of the game? Nah, just make it hit harder. Problem solved. What does that solve? Well don’t worry, Jagex will do EXACTLY that just like they caved to “make regular weapons do damage and problem solved!” Now you’ve got people going “well just remove regular weapon damage and make cannons hit 100’s.” THIS IS NOT THE ANSWER. The people who want Sailing combat to FEEL good don’t understand what feels good about combat.
