Do Claude Code plugins (like claude-mem) work on the Desktop app’s Code tab, or only in Terminal? I just installed claude-mem on my Mac and got it working perfectly through Terminal CLI — observations show up on localhost:37777, context gets injected into new sessions, everything works great. But when I use the Code tab in the Claude Desktop app, the plugin doesn’t seem to capture anything. No observations, no session history, nothing appears in the web viewer. The worker service is running and healthy. A few questions for anyone who’s dealt with this: Is this a known limitation of the Desktop app’s Code tab - that plugin hooks don’t fire there? Does this apply to ALL plugins, or is it specific to claude-mem? Has anyone found a workaround to get plugins working in the Desktop app? Is Anthropic planning to fix this, or is Terminal CLI the only reliable way to use plugins? For context: Mac, Claude Max plan, claude-mem v10.6.2, native Claude Code install. Everything works fine in Terminal. Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/DDthestoner
