I used to feel annoyed that it was always so difficult for me to get windows to do the things I wanted it to do. I’m a multi-decade working software and IT guy and struggling with Windows just frustrated me. Why am I so slow at figuring all this out? Well, watching Claude Code struggle with getting Windows to do simple things (app icons, shortcuts) warms my heart. It wasn’t me, as I suspected, Windows really is a PIA to work with. I did retire early but spent another ten years doing light consulting and contracting and I came to realize that Microsoft’s low quality was my business plan. Just had to share.
