While at work, I have no issues talking to women if necessary, with zero issues. However, I’d be lying if I said that talking to that same women at the bar would be as easy. The key difference is that while at work, there’s actually something to talk about, unlike the classic “Hey, how’s it going” after awkwardly walking up to them (If I even get that far). I have no idea what’s socially acceptable. For example, if I’m in a coffee shop on my own while wearing headphones, is it considered strange to walk over to a woman sitting down and start babbling like a child with no filter? If I’m in a bar/nightclub and see someone i find attractive, how exactly do you walk over to a stranger and start talking with no prior context. I could probably list a few more examples, but you get my point. I have terrible social skills and genuinely don’t know what’s considered normal or not. submitted by /u/DescriptionFuture851
