We talk about the 10-million initiative and immigration, but let’s be real: The housing crisis is driven by the super-rich using our apartments as a safe haven for their cash. I propose a hard ban on anyone worth over 1 billion CHF from owning or trading residential real estate, except for their own home. On top of that, we need a massive vacancy tax for anyone sitting on empty flats in cities just to wait for price hikes. Housing should be for living, not for parking wealth while the rest of us can’t find a place. Is this too radical, or is it the only way to keep Switzerland livable? submitted by /u/chefofyourmother
