Hi everyone, We have two kids (9 and 7.5 years old), and we live in one of the most expensive areas in the canton of Vaud. Rent here is extremely high. We currently live in a 3.5-room apartment, and we were lucky to rent it during COVID, when prices were still more reasonable. At that time, our kids were younger, so sharing a room was not an issue. Now that they’re getting older (a boy and a girl), we’re starting to wonder how much longer this arrangement will work. At the same time, 4.5-room apartments in our area are basically impossible to find under 3500 CHF, and they get rented out immediately. Since we are currently in the middle of the Swiss citizenship process, moving to another area is not really an option for us right now. I would really appreciate your advice: Until what age is it generally considered okay for siblings of different genders to share a room? Are online listings (Homegate, etc.) mostly showing the most expensive apartments? Is it possible to find more affordable rentals through agencies or other channels? Thanks a lot in advance! submitted by /u/Dangerous_Series2693
