I think Sailing combat feel lack luster due the fact that you just click the mob and wait. I think we should add more iteration with the combat to make it more interesting with the ability to afk but have slower kill times. Suggestions Remove the ability to use “normal gear” to hit mobs. Its ship combat, lets use the cannons that we have on our boats instead of just shadowing everything. Loading Loading cannonballs into the cannon would make it feel more like ship combat. This would increase iteration and can come with a cool animation. (this can also be assigned to a crew member but at a slower rate) To add some spice to the loading, lets add some effects to the cannonballs with the use of a new sailing station, the Elemental Imbuing Station . This station will allow the user to place a cannon ball on this station and after receive a cannon ball with an elemental effect. (effects below) Ice imbued
- This ice infused cannon ball will explode on impact with the water causing shards of ice to hit all targets with certain area. Fire Imbued
- This fire infused cannon ball will explode on impact with the water causing oil lit fire to spread to the top surface of the water burning all monsters in a certain area for a length of time. Earth imbued
- This earth infused cannon ball will explode on impact with the target dealing a large amount of damage and making them miss their next attack. Air imbued
- This air infused cannon ball will explode on impact with the water knocking back all targets in the area. Other stations Net Launcher
- Fires a large net out to the ocean that starts at the boat and extend away from the ship. All mobs in that area to be stuck in that area but new mobs can enter. All cannons will have increased accuracy to the monster inside the nets. Net launcher nets (2 versions) Fabric Net - Net will maintain for 40 seconds before needing to re-fired. Metal Net - Net will maintain for 60 seconds before needing to re-fired. Electrifying Station
- This station is connected to the Metal Net variant of the Net Launcher causing all monsters in the net area to attack at a reduced speed and dealing a low amount of damage. The station will need to be recharged by the player by cranking the station to recharge. This would create a game play loop where the player would place a net in a good position then charge the cannon balls, to then load them for the crew to fire them while maintaining the Electrifying Station by recharging. The player can also choose the best imbue for the task at hand. Hope you enjoy my ideas, please let me know your feedback.
