I’m convinced that the reason we’re seeing so much news about AI being a bubble, or companies not benefiting from it, isn’t the technology itself. Rather, it’s that most people, or the so-called ‘normies’ if we’re using slang, don’t have the mental tools to use it effectively. A major issue is that AI has been misleadingly advertised as an “I will think for you while you press buttons” type of technology, which is simply not true. Using AI in a meaningful way requires a good deal of abstract and non-linear thinking, which many people struggle with. They tend to stick with what they’ve always done instead of experimenting with new workflows. Meanwhile, the people who are using AI effectively are seeing massive productivity gains. submitted by /u/MasterDisillusioned
