Original Reddit post

Hello Users of r/AskGirls ! This thread is to update our previously pinned message, as well as to update users on some changes going forward. As it has been the case for years now, all users of this subreddit must have User Flair, whether they are posting or commenting. Rather than reposting a step by step How To Get User Flair, we’re just going to say Google It. Look up “How to assign User Flair Reddit,” and a few threads pop up explaining how. If you’re on the mobile app, you may need to switch to the browser version on your phone. Your User Flair MUST include the information listed in Rule 9. Anyone found simply assigning the “Customize Your Flair” blank flair will have their flair and comment removed. These are our rules. These have been our rules for years. Follow them or don’t post. Simple. . . . Pertaining to that, please remember that this is AskGIRLS. If you’re a guy, a boy, a man, a masc-presenting feral cat… Don’t answer questions here. You will have your answers locked and removed, per rule 4. Do it too often, you’ll be banned. That’s been a rule for years too. It should be pretty obvious that if it’s a question for a girl and you don’t identify as one, nobody’s asking for your opinion. . . . Personal images are no longer supported on this subreddit. We’ve had a few cases of people posting selfies asking for help in good faith, and then they get slammed with trolls. We don’t allow pictures to be posted anymore. Links to images will be deleted. . . . We are looking for more mods. Right now, it’s just Jemi and Cherry running the show here. We do what we can, but being spread so thin, we have to approach this subreddit in broader sweeps that may not always feel fair because we just don’t have the time to approach everyone on a case by case basis. . . If you’re interested in joining the team, we need a verifiable history of you following/supporting the rules here. No blank or throwaway profiles will be considered. . . . Reddit has changed the dashboard UI for us, so if you’re reaching out with a question about something getting removed, we can’t see what you’re talking about unless you send us a link. It might show as removed for you, but we can still see it as long as you haven’t manually deleted it. Without a link, we can’t help. . . Technically, we can view your profile to try to figure out what the removed content was, but this subreddit gets 19k visitors per week. We’re not going to do that for everyone, so please, send a link if you want our help. . . . Some of you have noticed the posts no longer allow for body text when posting. This is intentional. For the last 3 years, the most common reason posts were removed was a combination violation of rules 1 and 3 where people were posting an essay’s worth of personal context that asked us to speculate on the words or actions of some random girl just because we shared their gender. . . By removing the ability to post body texts, we have removed the ability to violate these rules in tandem. Posts are far less likely to be removed now. . . . Survey says the single most Frequently Asked Question in 2025 was about our height preferences. The answer? It depends on the girl, we’re still not a monolith. . . 2024’s was whether or not we would date a man who was divorced. This metric was single-handedly formed by a singular divorcee. The answer? It depends on the girl, we weren’t a monolith in 2024 either. . . 2016’s through 2023 was about our preference in hair. Bald, hairy chested, full heads of hair, shaved chests… The answer? Yeah, apparently we’ve never been a monolith. . . In 2026, we anticipate that we will continue not to be a monolith, sorry to say. FAQs pertaining to height, hair, and marital status will continue to be removed. Use the search bar to find the answers. . . . We hope this clarifies some of the changes on this subreddit, and we look forward to continuing to manage this subreddit with most of you. submitted by /u/AutoModerator
