My coworker and I are friendly with one another and he is a man and I am a woman. We joke around often but in the past he has poked fun at me and called me ugly or fat and I don’t think i am either of those things. I mess around with him too but I think it’s a low blow to go after someone’s appearance because i don’t want to hurt someone. I told my boyfriend about this and he told me that if my coworker actually believed i was fat or ugly, he wouldn’t say it to my face as a joke. It doesn’t really bother me because i don’t believe those things about myself but I’m just wondering why when we joke around he targets my appearance? submitted by /u/Either_Decision_2775
