I don’t think sexism toward women is justified, but I do think we should talk about why some young men end up developing resentment. If a young guy grows up mostly seeing online content that mocks men, blames men for everything, or constantly portrays them negatively, that’s going to shape how he sees the world. A lot of online spaces thrive on rage bait. Content that trashes men gets engagement, just like content that trashes women does. When young men scroll through comment sections and see thousands of people agreeing with posts that ridicule or generalize about men, it can feel like that hostility represents how women actually think about them. I know it’s not all women, and I know the internet amplifies extreme voices. But if someone’s primary experiences with the opposite sex are negative or hostile, it’s not that shocking that they might develop bias or defensiveness over time. I just think it’s worth asking: how much is online culture contributing to this divide, and are we underestimating its impact on young people? submitted by /u/Ok_Walk3192
