Does anyone else find it a bit odd that Chambers of Xeric is the only safe-death raid for Hardcore Ironmen? I get why unsafe deaths exist in raids, especially in group content—it makes sense that wipes should matter. But for solo HCIMs, it feels limiting that Tombs of Amascut and Theatre of Blood are both unsafe. It basically funnels you into CoX if you want to raid without risking your status. The strange part is that ToA in particular offers some of the most useful early/mid-game upgrades for Ironmen (like Fang and Lightbearer), yet it’s content HC players are heavily discouraged from doing. Meanwhile, CoX is safe, but its rewards are often more long-term goals. A better system (at least for ToA) could build off how invocations already work. Since you can control team lives—and even run invocations where your team only has 1 life—it could make sense for HC status to only be lost if that shared life is fully wiped. In other words, deaths themselves wouldn’t instantly remove HC status, but a full team wipe (or running a 1-life setup and dying) would. This way you can still make it a challenge and still be rewarded for doing toa on a higher invo, but if you want to play it safe you can. It would also mean that people who want to run toa solo could just turn the team wipes up to 3 or off and not have to worry about losing status. Curious what others think—does the current system make sense, or should raids be handled differently for HCIM? Feel like this could apply to colo as well? submitted by /u/vozy2525
