So, I’ve been wrestling nihilism for a while now and I’m practically on the verge of it. From stuff like the AI RAMpocalypse pushing the PS5 to higher prices, current job market worries, the Iran War, and political turmoil in general (not just US as I think it’s a problem in most places) I’m kind of at a point where I just can’t be happy about the future. I know my parents tell me that I’m financially covered, we have plenty of money, or that I already have a PS5, but I have the perspective that your never fully secure. All it takes is one bad day or for enough bad events to happen until it comes to your front door and infringes on your life. And if from what I’ve seen in recent years of social action has taught me anything, I don’t believe that helps either. If protests did help then we wouldn’t be in this situation now. Is there anything to actually look forward to in the future (provide links if you find anything)? Is this nihilism more of a Reddit thing that amplifies the bad news to ignore the good stuff? The only thing that I can point out is maybe AI losing to humans in the realm of art and creativity (Sora shutdown and AI art can’t be copyrighted), and game developers using AI only as an assistant rather than a replacement. Even still, part of me thinks this is just false hope. submitted by /u/Exoticbut
