I said to my long term boyfriend (M30) I did not want to take his last name legally - just be called his last name (and change on social media’s). He said this was a deal breaker. Through this conversation I (female 27) offered different options; these included: hyphenate our last name change my middle name to my last name (+ my actual middle name).
