Hey guys! Just a humble bartender/handyman out of the Midwest. Started over fresh from a previous marriage and on the wagon for about a year now in Edmond, Oklahoma. Had an accident involving some scaffolding on a clients property where I sustained a pretty serious injury from the fall. I was hoping to get away without having surgery but after going over the reports and speaking with my doctors I can’t imagine not having it done. Especially being a full time bartender normally and doing handyman work on the side. Pretty significant gap in the break and I don’t see it healing up alright especially given how active I am and plan on continue being. Anyways the docs are putting my recovery time at 12 weeks after surgery and luckily I was able to come up with initial down payments now I’m just sweating about rent and everything else coming up. I’ve been on the phone all day with local utilities and assistant programs exploring my options until I can get back to work. No insurance and usually living paycheck to paycheck check but I have actually had a fantastic past year with sobriety and coming out of my divorce and buying a new a car so this is just a small hiccup and back to the best years of my life! Thank you guys submitted by /u/alankcarman
