Whenever I read someone talk about other people and they’re like “met this dude, met this girl. I thought they looked interesting, but then we talked and…”not much substance.” Does anyone else get kinda irritated by that? I get what people mean; it just seems a bit derogatory, slightly sub-human . Using RPG terms, it’s like the person making that comment has main character syndrome and other people fall into three categories- supporting characters, NPCs and baddies. Like if you’re interesting to that person, you can be their supporting character. If not, you’re an NPC. You have no depth at all. And it’s like…bullsht. Most people have depth and a story. It might be something you can’t vibe with based on your own situation and maybe the chemistry’s not there. But they have substance, and if you feel otherwise, maybe it’s just not your thing. submitted by /u/Ok-Explorer-7642
