Hi guys, I’ve got an odd situation, and could use a few ideas or tips. I’ve got a depression problem, working on it, but basically I have no family or friends, and the only thing in my life is work, which isn’t too bad. I never take any vacations or days off, and this month I capped out the number of PTO hours I can accumulate. There’s some bean counters in the upper office who noticed that, and have basically told me that I’m out for the next week or so, to burn enough hours that I’m not making their metrics look bad. Now I’ve got a few surprise days off, and no idea what to do with it. I thought I might travel to another city, maybe go to some museums or something, but I’ve got no idea where to start. Lots of the recommendations I found online are about things which I honestly could not enjoy less, sports, breweries, beaches, nightlife. All I know is if I spend the next 6 or 7 days lounging around my apartment until I can go back to work, I’ll be in an even worse depression spiral than I am now. What thoughts or recommendations might people have for this? For context, I’m mid-30’s, living in a medium-sized city in the US midwest submitted by /u/flavourofanewsky
