I needed a DCF and some IB materials before a fundraise. I was short on time and was about to pay $4k to someone to build it. I thought of trying it myself and came across a few articles and YT tutorials mentioning Claude Code and IB, finance plugins I copied some install commands I didn’t fully understand, got the financial analysis and investment banking plugins installed, typed /one-pager, and got a clean 4 quad company profile in under 10 mins. Typed /dcf, got a full model scaffolded out in 20 mins. The reconciliation that was going to eat my afternoon took barely a few minutes. I genuinely do not know what happened under the hood and I didn’t need to. The only part that still needed me was understanding my own assumptions and sense checking the numbers. The part that was going to take days was gone. 3 weeks ago I thought Claude Code was for engineers. It’s not. If someone’s already built the right plugin you just describe what you want and it does it. Didn’t expect to be posting this but here we are.
