I have a gap of almost two years in my CV. During that time, I was unemployed. I did start a job, but I left during the probation period and then became unemployed again. Since I prefer not to include that short probationary position on my CV, it appears as an almost continuous two-year period without formal employment. However, I was studying part-time during that period and also took on occasional temporary or day jobs. In my CV, I therefore list this time as “Part-time studies / Temporary assignments,” including the respective months and years. From an HR perspective, is such a phase considered a red flag? Or is the main concern simply to avoid unexplained time gaps? In other words, is it problematic that I was not continuously employed by a company, or is it sufficient that the period is transparently accounted for? For context, I am Swiss, if that makes any difference in terms of local hiring practices. Thank you very much. submitted by /u/Efendi__
