I tested both the latest version and v2.1.68. In my last two 5-hour quota windows, I only got through two dev sessions to build a small feature, and I was already using Codex for review. My quota reset again about 30 minutes ago, so this time I kept it to just one session and watched the status line context and usage closely. One important detail: I made sure every message gap stayed under 5 minutes, specifically to keep the cache from expiring. Even then, the numbers were still awful. When the status line showed around 70K context, I was already at 7% usage for the 5-hour window. By the time I finished writing one script and reading a few files, the status line showed 48.9% · 97.9k tokens, and that had already burned 14% of the quota. Honestly, that’s ridiculously high. Using 97.9K tokens and losing 14% of the quota feels terrible. I’m really not happy with how much Claude’s 5-hour quota policy seems to have been tightened. What frustrates me most is that even with Max 5x, across 10 hours and two quota refreshes, I still had to rely on Codex just to finish a single feature change. If other Max users are seeing the same thing, I’d really like to know. submitted by /u/Last_Lab_3627
